K6 – Force Tensiometer
The manual tensiometer for reliable basic measurements
The K6 Force Tensiometer is a robust, manual instrument for measuring surface and interfacial tension. It uses a ring tear-off method for fast, easy, and accurate measurements of surfactant solutions and solvents. It is also suitable for training to demonstrate surface tension forces clearly.

Applications
☑️ Quality control of surfactant solutions and solvents
☑️ Research on surface and interfacial tension properties
☑️ Training and educational demonstrations of surface tension
☑️ Testing liquids in various industrial and laboratory settings
Measuring Methods
☑️ Surface tension via tensile force of a stretched lamella
☑️ Interfacial tension via tensile force of a stretched lamella
Measuring Results
☑️ Surface tension of a liquid
☑️ Interfacial tension between two liquids
How the K6 works
The heart of the instrument is a torsion wire which is connected to the measuring ring. The ring is immersed in the sample and slowly pulled out by lowering the liquid. The surface tension (SFT) causes the wire to twist, the deflection of which is shown on a calibrated scale by means of a drag pointer. The pointer moves up to the maximum force and stops after the lamella has been torn off the ring so that the SFT can be read.
