High Pressure Thermal Analysis
DSC, thermobalances (TGA), TGA-DSC and dilatometers up to 150 bar
LINSEIS high-pressure thermal analyzers operate according to the same measurement methods as their ambient-pressure counterparts, but can be used at high temperatures and pressures of up to 150 bar. This enables the investigation of pressure-dependent phenomena such as sorption and chemical reactions. Both are of great importance for the development of new materials and processes for renewable (green) energy applications.
In hydrogen technology, hydrogen storage plays a crucial role, requiring the investigation of storage materials (metal hydrides) as well as storage conditions such as pressure and temperature.
Another important application is biomass gasification. The process parameters involved in converting biomass into syngas, which can be used as a fuel or as a precursor for methanol and other valuable chemicals, can be studied by varying the pressure, temperature, and chemical composition of the gas atmosphere.
All of these processes can be simulated, analyzed, and optimized using LINSEIS high-pressure analyzers.
